The new free trade agreement between the United States, Mexico and Canada, known as USMCA (United States Mexico Canada Agreement), went into effect on July 1, 2020.

USMCA is the successor to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). NAFTA, which has existed since 1994, has now been renegotiated and modernized, so that it provides new rules, particularly for the automotive industry.
